In the world of ramps we often think of capacity as being a top-three most important aspect for a ramp selection. Luckily, in the case of a PetSTEP ramp, one size fits all. Any breed you can think of will work with a PetSTEP ramp from the smallest teacup Pomeranian to the largest St. Bernard.
My Akita, Penny
When I have a customer call requesting a pet ramp, the first question I ask is how long do they need the ramp? Over 90% of answers are for a vehicle, which eliminates many of the pet ramps we carry. My follow up question is always regarding the breed and/or size of the dog, which will further determine what brand of ramp will be satisfactory (sometimes I’ll even mention my dog Penny which is an Akita).
Keeping the SUV clean
As with all dogs, tracking in mud and dirt on their paws are going to happen. The PetSTEP ramp’s surface prevents mud and dirt from spreading into the vehicle (as a precaution I also cover the rear with a blanket). This way I save time vacuuming the contaminants each time the dog climbs into the car.
Accessories Make it Easy
Using the pet ramp is quite easy for an SUV’s rear, but what about a sedan or other types of vehicles that may not offer rear access? The ramp is small enough width-wise to angle the nose of the ramp into the car, allowing one corner to rest on the seat, leaving the other corner hanging in the air. To prevent the ramp from falling and inuring your pet, Handi-Ramp has devised a side support strap. One end slips into an opening on the ramp while the other end (bracket) simply sits on the door frame. Adjust the strap to your liking and voila!
