HandiRamp’s Cargo Van Ramps are equipped with unrivaled safety features not found on competitive products. Chief among these is our patented 360-degree aluminum anti-slip ramp surface. Unlike other commercial van ramps that provide little traction when stepping or moving on an angle to the ramp, HandiRamp’s 360-degree non-slip ramp surface prevents slips and falls in every direction and in any weather. In addition, the raised traction buttons are self-cleaning with each step. This means that dirt, debris, snow and even a thin layer of ice will not significantly reduce foot traction on the ramp. These common environmental conditions often plug the shallow grooves that many other aluminum ramps rely upon for traction, making them less safe when sure footing is needed most.
Our unique True Spring Assist™ hardware creates the safest and smoothest deployment of the ramp, making it operable by just one person. Instead of relying on just your own strength, the True Spring Assist hardware facilitates smooth roll-out and helps pull the ramp up when stowing. Most competitor’s ramps rely solely on multiple gas shocks to provide lifting assistance for their ramps. Unless they’re massive in size, gas shocks alone don’t have the ability to lift the substantial weight of an aluminum van ramp. HandiRamp folding cargo van ramps utilize a combination of heavy-duty springs for maximum lifting power and a set of gas shocks for smooth, safe operation. Not only does this spring and gas shock combination make for faster and easier operation, it also reduces future maintenance and replacement costs.
Unlike most folding van ramps on the market today whose main components are bolted together, the HandiRamp Cargo Van Ramp is hand-welded by our in-house expert craftsmen. Welding ensures lasting durability, exceptional stability and improved safety. Bolts can often come loose on other ramps requiring extra vigilance and maintenance as the ramp ages. Welds never come loose ensuring the strongest, safest, and most durable folding van ramp.
From the very start, HandiRamp engineers focused on designing a ramp that could be quickly, easily and safely deployed by a person of any size. Handi Ramp’s True Spring Assist™ technology pound-for-pound delivers the ramp industry’s lightest lift requirement. The lighter the lift, the safer the ramp! Another safety and convenience feature are the top-mounted handles. We weld – not bolt – the safety handles to the top of the ramp to improve ergonomics and maximize the control that an operator has while deploying and stowing the ramp. By using the handles, the operator eliminates the possibility of pinched fingers.
One of the primary considerations we had when designing the HandiRamp line of cargo van ramps was to make installation simple for anyone with enough skills to use a measuring tape, electric drill, a ratchet, and a wrench. To ensure that we could coach the vast majority of owners and vehicles, we began by doing in-depth research into the most popular van and truck makes, models, and years.
