As we leave the warmer summer months behind and enter the cooler, latter part of the year, we know one thing: football season is upon us.
It is easy to get carried away (especially during high school and college games) when your team is playing at home against a top rank opponent.
Quite often with more popular teams the stadium can quickly get crowded, requiring late-arriving fans to stand where available. At the same time, stadium security and other officials want to ensure fans’ safety. Handrails play an important part in guiding fans to their seats in the stadium and also help to contain crowds in some situation. This is where we, Handi-Ramp come in.
For the last several years, Handi-Ramp has been designing and manufacturing custom handrails for all types of situations, including sports venues. Walking up or down stadium steps can be tricky. And what if your local stadium was chosen to host a playoff or even championship game? Our handrails can assist security personnel with keeping crowds at bay.
When researching handrails, you will quickly find Handi-Ramp offers single bar, double bar and vertical picket hand rails as part of the purchasing decision.
Single Bar Handrails
Made from galvanized steel (which prevents rust accumulation) and appropriate for a height difference of 6 inches or more, these handrails are the most cost effective solution. They work well pretty much anywhere – stairways, walkways and platforms. Singlebar handrails are the way to go for a quick, inexpensive solution.
Double Bar Handrails
Also made from galvanized steel, double bar railing provides an added safety rail for additional support. Double bar railings meet ADA requirements and add an attractive look to the railings. Also ideal for stairways, walkways and platforms, these handrails are designed for ramps or other inclined surfaces. The second bar is located 16 inches below the first one.
Vertical Picket Handrails
Steel vertical picket handrails provide the optimal safety and support of all three handrail options. These handrails are typically designed for use in a playground where children are present. If you are looking for the most sturdy handrail that we sell, this is the one for you. The distance between vertical pickets are 4 inches and designed to prevent children from falling through the rails, trying to stick their head between the bars, etc. Vertical pickets can be purchased alone or with a ramp system.
When considering safety in your football stadium for the fall season, consider additional or replacement handrails from Handi-Ramp. Please contact our handrail experts for detailed information about your purchasing decision. Call 800-876-RAMP (7267).
My brother was thinking about getting handrails for a project he is interested in. He has been researching different types of rails and what they can do. It would help him a lot to know about double handrails since they are for safety and additional support.
