Resources for Children with Disabilities – Maine

Child Development Center of Strafford County
We provide integrated pre-school, kindergarten, educational services, a deaf education program and vocational education programming to children between the ages of 3 and 21 who have been determined to be hearing impaired, developmentally disabled, physically disabled and/or medically fragile. In addition, we provide ASL interpretation, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, an aquatics program, a horticultural program, a hippo therapy (horseback riding) program, behavioral intervention and community based experiences.

The Pine Tree Society
The Pine Tree Society is a nonprofit organization that offers a wide variety of programs to Maine children and adults with disabilities. The Kids’ Project is a program of the Pine Tree Society that sells wooden adaptive equipment for children with disabilities.

Through its projects, individuals can receive information about: specific disabilities, parenting issues, education, services, support groups and other resources available to assist families and professionals within the home, school and community.
