Sunny On the West Coast
With the weather feeling a bit more like spring in Chicago, it’s easy to forget the West Coast has decent to beautiful weather all year long. If you’ve had a chance to visit San Francisco like I have, you’ll quickly come to realize the lack of clouds and abundance of sun illuminating the city.
Solar Panels Manufactured in Silicon Valley
Taking advantage of of the sunnier days on the west coast, is one new start up company located in the heart of Silicon Valley that is advancing the already booming solar panel market. Solar panels have slowly been rising in popularity among residents and businesses alike, generating electricity from the sun’s radiant energy. This new company has begun to manufacture their own modified solar panels south of San Francisco, and ship them to a plant where workers add a bit of human touch to the customization of these panels.
A Loading Dock Required to Ship Solar Panels
Regrettably, the warehouse used for this process does not have a dock installed, rendering a delivery impossible. Quickly, the plant managers began searching a solution online when they came upon the Handi-Ramp website promoting our portable yard ramps. After researching our product, they decided to give us a call. I explained how the yard ramp works, pricing, availability, and other possible alternatives. The main concern brought up during the conversation was pricing, and whether purchasing or renting a ramp could be too costly.
New, Used or Rental Portable Dock Yard Ramps?
The options were explained in detail. We went through why the option of buying new, buying used or renting could work for their situation. With multiple semi trailers arriving each week with a replenishment of solar panels, it would save money to purchase a yard ramp. If, however they wanted to test the yard ramp before committing to a purchase, one month rentals would be available.
The one month rental would allow the solar company to test out the yard ramp. They had to decide what time length and price was right. They would not have a loading dock for the foreseeable future so they decided to rent the ramp for a month and then decide if they wanted to buy the used ramp.
If you are in need of a temporary loading dock the yard ramp is a perfect solution. Please call our ramp experts at (800) 876-RAMP or visit handiramp.com
