New Years Resolution, Finding a Way to Overcome Disability and Make Life Accessible
Any disease can become disabling if you let it overcome you. I know someone who has multiple sclerosis. It hasn’t held her back.
Another friend got sick at a young age, nearing the prime of her life. She had beautiful hand writing and still does, but after MS it was harder to control. She had to retire early from her work to stay healthy.
I’ve heard many ideas on how to solve the issue of accessibility, and make their lives more independent. Many of the changes included minor modifications to the house, adding many products that allowed the ease of moving around her house.
Some of the added products that my friend chose were:
- Grab bars for tub and toilet
- Stair lift
- threshold ramp
- portable ramp
Both of my friends continue to live a comfortable life having more independence. They may have a disability, but it does not stop them.
