Veterans Living a Life of Mobility with Ramps

For thousands of years, brave young men and women have put their lives on the line to defend our freedom, and for thousands of years the vast majority of those who return home must attend to varying degrees of injuries.  Topping the list of the most common injury is an amputation, with many of our soldiers requiring an arm or leg prosthetic – sometimes both.

As the Iraq war begins to dwindle down and many of our armed forces return home, many face countless challenges including entering a classroom of younger people, coping with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), and locating appropriate housing and the stigma of a disability.

Not for profit organizations have been and will continue to pop up all over the country, with thousands of volunteers to ready to help, in their mind, heroes.  Sadly, these organizations cannot fix the abundant problem of ADA accessible housing, where many amputees are unable to access their homes.
