Many people go through life depending on the assistance of others.
Such was the idea in this case.
An employee at a Chicagoland Institution contacted us about outfitting their restrooms with grab bars for those physically disabled.
Upon speaking with a disability expert, the school decided to purchase five grab bars to be used in one of their four recently purchased apartment buildings for disabled occupancy. The largest of the grab bars, named the Dependa-Bar, was installed over the bathtub, providing support when leaving the tub. Two other, smaller grab bars were installed on either side of the toilet.

During the install, some problems were encountered. The two concrete walls closest the toilet where the smaller grab bars were placed were also covered in ceramic tiles. Because of this, a simple pilot hole is needed to drill through the tile first. To do it, it is required to tap a nail into the ceramic surface until it breaks, creating a space to insert the masonry drill and finally mount the grab bar.
There was also ceramic tile above the bathtub, and to overcome this, installers drilled a slightly larger hole than the aforementioned, then a second, concrete drill bit to finish the anchoring point in the concrete. They then mounted the grab bars by inserting concrete/anchor screws.

Overall, the install took just a couple hours and went smooth. The physically disabled now have a safe, worry-free method of using the restroom without encountering any problems.
