Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance

ADA ComplianceIn all of our previous articles we have continuously mentioned the strict policies the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has implemented providing safer access to those who are disabled.

In efforts to make compliance a simpler process, the ADA created a compliance kit used most often by hotels and hospitals to provide their guests (approximately 25 million deaf and hard of hearing travelers each year) with necessary safety items.

Included in this kit is a TTY text telephone, door beacon with LED light, telephone handset amplifier, telephone signaler, alarm clock, audio/visual smoke detector, ADA compliance sign, and a hard carrying case to protect the above items.

As for businesses and local/state government agencies, the ADA promotes the use of self-regulation to become ADA compliant.
